2003

Union 2112 Records

Format I Own it On: Compact Disc

Track Listing: 1. Not Invited  2. New Revolution  3. Built To Last  4. Lipstick & Makeup  5. Picture Perfect World  6. Angry All The Time  7. Better Half  8. Lost In You  9. Until You Be Mine  10. Fallout  11. Has Been Lullaby  12. Long Road Home

The follow-up to "New Union, Old Glory" finds Ann Beretta easing the tempos and making the melodies even more sing-along-aable. In some places they kind of remind me of Gen X. I think the lack of fire in this makes it a bit less memorable than their previous albums, but it's a good time nonetheless.

And check out the lyrics in "New Revolution":

"So we dance with the devil in the pale moonlight
It might be a crime but it feels so right."

Correct me if I'm wrong but I can only interpret that as a Batman '89 reference! I love Batman '89!

I  have been noticing,  whenever I talk about albums that were released during the CD-era, I never talk about the covers. I'm kind of having a hard time even recalling any CD covers that have knocked me out in the same way the 60's and 70's covers did.

This probably has something to do with the physical size. A vinyl record is so big that you have a ton of space to work with and the 12 by 12 inch format isn't too far removed from the size of a painting or framed photograph. CD's covers have more in common with books.. and I'm also having a hard time coming up with any book covers that totally blow me away....

...Except maybe that one....

I'll think about this one for awhile..I'll See if I can't think of any CD-era covers that bowled me over the same way that say, the "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" does...

I mean, look at this!

...and this!  What an eyesore! I honestly think the"Fabio" cover is better than this one!

While I'm trying to think of great album art of the CD era let's listen to Ann Beretta's "Until You Be Mine"...No wait! The video has been taken down and there's no other songs from this album currently available on youtube.  Well, I don't particularly feel like making my own, but go ahead and click on the video anyway and look at the beautiful static...Enjizzle...
